Burlingame is moving forward with updating its accessory dwelling unit zoning codes — largely with more leniency for the buildings — to be in compliance with state law, the City Council decided at its meeting Dec. 2.

The city received a letter from the California Department of Housing and Community Development informing it that Burlingame’s ADU regulations weren’t reflective of current state law, Planning Manager Ruben Hurin said at a previous Planning Commission meeting.
